Brother Bench grew up in the suburbs of New York City.  He went to BYU and served a mission in Barcelona Spain. Dad of 4 boys. Works in Spanish Media.

Sister Bench grew up in Potomac, Maryland. She also went to BYU, and is the Mom of 4 boys.  Works for a management consulting firm.  She has served in YW, Primary and Relief Society.

Brother Paul Peterson

Sister Marci Peterson

1st Counselor

Brother Peterson has been a member of the Church all his life. Born and lived in San Diego for most of his 65yrs. Went to Spokane Washington on his mission. Have been a businessman all his life, owning and running different businesses. Today he works for a trampoline park company that owns and operates 75 trampoline parks in North America. His hobby is triathlons. He started when he was 48 yrs old and has done 7 full Ironman races and 30 half ironman races all over the country. 

Marci andP aul have 4 children, two that are married, 6 grandkids. We love spending time on the lake, boating with all of them.

Sister Peterson Marci is originally from Alberta Canada. When appropriate, she will share a faith promoting story of how she was adopted as a baby into her family. She's been married to Paul for 43 years. They met at BYU, and moved to San Diego soon after getting married. Raised their family in San Diego. We came to AZ 6 yrs ago, to be closer to our family who live here. We have 4 children, our two oldest are married. We have 6 grandchildren. She loves to do things with my husband. Her favorite thing is spending time with her family. 

Testimony: We both love our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We have a firm testimony of the restored Gospel, including that of the Book of Mormon. We recognize His hand in so many areas of our life. All of the blessings have come from Him. We are continually amazed and humbled with opportunities to serve and are grateful for His trust is us. We are grateful to have a living Prophet and Apostles who lead and guide our Church. 

Brother Bryson Merkley

2nd Counselor

Brother Merkley has lived in Mesa his whole life. He served my mission in the Twin Falls and Boise Idaho missions from 2015-2017. He currently works as an admin assistant for Seros Financial. He is an accomplished musician, and conducts Voices of the Valley Choir and Orchestra.

Testimony: I have learned for myself that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love all of their children. I know that Holy Ghost is real, and I’m so grateful for His guidance in my life. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and that the Book of Mormon is God’s word. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ’s church restored to the earth with His authority. God’s plan includes each one of His children, no matter who they are, and He loves us and is providing for us everything we need to return home to Him.
