5 Stake New Year's Eve Celebration!

Mark your calendar and join YSAs from Mesa East, Mesa West, Gilbert, Tempe, and Phoenix Stakes at our New Year's Eve Celebration on Friday, December 29th from 8:00 pm to Midnight!

Temple Volunteer Service

We are helping with parking from December 15-21st from 5:30 - 9:30PM. Only 12 people are needed each night for that single shift. They will meet at the box trailer in the south parking lot next to the garden shop. Please dress comfortably but warm. Sunday dress not required. The assignment for each ward will still be as follows:

Consider participating in the Christmas season this year by giving service at the giving machines this year. We have the opportunity to tend to the giving machines from 9-11PM on the following dates. Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults with Elder Quentin L. Cook and Sister Mary G. Cook on November 19 at 7:00 p.m.

Elder Quentin L. Cook and Sister Mary G. Cook will speak to young adults during a worldwide devotional on Sunday, November 19, 2023. A multi-stake fireside will be held at the RMI at 7:00 pm and members of our stake are invited to join with the members of the participating stakes to view the broadcast! All young adults ages 18–30 are invited to participate.

Join the 27 Up Members of our Stake for Our Inaugural Activity

Members of our Stake who are 27 and older are cordially invited to our inaugural 27 Up activity on November 17th at 6:30 pm. Check the flyer for the address. RSVP to Morgan Roberts. Mesa Az YSA East Stake to Host Arizona Regional Institute Fireside with Elder Ronald A. Rasband

Elder Ronald A. Rasband to speak at Mesa Red Mountain Institute on Sunday, November 12th, 2023

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will speak to Young Adults across Arizona from the Red Mountain Institute building on Sunday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. The Mesa Arizona YSA East Stake will host this fireside.

All young adults are invited to mark their calendars and plan to attend an opportunity to hear from this Prophet and member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. To learn more about Elder Rasband, you can visit this link!

Elder Rasband has held numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Eastern States Mission (1970-1972), Temple Square missionary guide, bishop, and member of the Church’s Sesquicentennial Committee. He presided over the New York, New York North Mission from 1996 to 1999.

In 1976 he joined Huntsman Container Company as a sales representative, and in 1987, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Huntsman Chemical Corporation.

When he left Huntsman Chemical Corporation in 1996 to serve as a mission president in New York, he was also serving as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mesa East YSA Stake SODA SOCIAL

Building Exchange with the Mesa AZ Salt River Stake

Due to facility challenges at the Mesa AZ Salt River Stake building, the Mesa AZ Salt River Stake will be holding its Stake Conference on September 16th and 17th at the Red Mountain Institute Building. As a result, all YSA wards and meetings typically held at the RMI on that Sunday will be relocated to the McDowell Building located at 7752 East McDowell Road, MESA, Arizona 85207-1223.

All Ward meetings and activities including ward leadership meetings, interviews, choir practices, and linger longers scheduled for that day will be held at this McDowell building.

Sister Andrea Muñoz Spannaus, of the Young Women General Presidency, has been asked by the Church to speak to all the young adults in the Phoenix Valley. This wonderful event will be held at the Tempe Institute on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 6:00 PM.

Christmas in July?!

The month of July our stake has the opportunity to serve the temple by helping prepare the Mesa Temple Christmas lights displays for this coming December. This will be at 7PM at the interstake center. The wards will go the following Mondays:

July 10th - Highland Park and Eden Park
July 17th - Canyon Lake
July 24th - Countryside Park and Painted Mountain
Julu 31st - Superstition Mountain and Chaparral Park

A prayer and spiritual thought need to be assigned to begin the service and there needs to be another prayer assigned at the close, if you are sharing a Monday, please work that out between the wards. One option often done is that wards bring food for after the service, for this there is a fridge/freezer available at the facility if needed.

President and Sister Oaks to Speak at May Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults Broadcast on Sunday, May 21, 2023

President Dallin H. Oaks of the First Presidency and his wife, Sister Kristen Oaks, will speak to Young adults during a worldwide devotional from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 21, 2023.

The devotional is for young adults ages 18-30, married or single, who are encouraged to invite and gather with friends to hear President and Sister Oaks’ messages.

In North or South America, young adults can view the live broadcast on Sunday, May 21, at 6 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.

Young adults in other areas of the world will view the rebroadcast the afternoon and evening of May 28.

The event will be recorded and available to watch on Gospel Library (online and app).

Leadership Session at 9:00 -10:30 a.m. at the Red Mountain Institute.

Who should attend the 9:00 a.m. meeting? All Ward and Stake Married Adult Leaders and spouses, all Stake Committee Co-chairs, Stake Relief Society and Stake Sunday School Presidencies including Secretaries, the Stake Relief Society Advisory Council, All Ward Relief Society and Elders Quorum Presidencies including Secretaries, all Ward Sunday School Presidencies including Secretaries, and Stake and Ward Mission Leaders. Anyone at a Ward Level who regularly attends a Ward Council should also attend!

General Session at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Mountain Institute.

Lunch Session at 1:15 p.m. at the Red Mountain Institute.

ABOUT Brother Corbitt:

Brother Ahmad S. Corbitt is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He earned a degree in sociology and a law degree, both in New Jersey. He has worked as a trial lawyer, general counsel, and government and public relations executive in NJ, NY, and DE. He was recently recruited to work for the Church’s Missionary Department.

Brother Corbitt has served as a full-time missionary in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission, stake president in New Jersey, and president of the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission. He and his wife, Jayne, have six children and 12 grandchildren.

Stake Softball Begins!

All games will be played at the Cooley Park fields on the following dates, beginning at 7:00 pm with the second game beginning at 8:00 pm.

Each ward will play two games per night. Co-ed Softball rules are in effect (there must be a minimum of 3 female players on the field.

Games begin promptly at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Teams who arrive late or are not ready to take the field by 7:15 pm or 8:15 pm will forfeit their games!

- Live Performance

Power of the Lamb is a musical celebration of the power of faith in Jesus Christ in our lives. The program helps us discover the source of spiritual power, the power we can access in our own personal lives. As we “offer our whole souls” to Jesus Christ, He gives us power to “overcome the world” and “become saints.” It is the “power of the lamb of God” that will “descend upon” us and sustain us in the coming challenges leading up to our Savior’s coming.

Join Young Single Adults from across the valley at a special Fireside hosted by the ASU Tempe Institute. Doors open at 5:30 pm so get there early to make sure you get a seat!

Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults with Elder and Sister Holland

On January 8, 2023, join other young adults ages 18-30, married or single, at a worldwide devotional with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Patricia T. Holland. They will speak from the M. Anthony Burns Arena on the campus of Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, USA, in front of a live audience of young adults.

Plan now to invite and gather with your friends to hear inspired messages that are just for you from one of the Lord’s living Apostles.
