A few years after serving his full-time mission here in good ‘ol Arizona, Rex hired Susan to be a singer in his band. After a 6-week tour in Alaska entertaining the armed forces there, they celebrated their harmonious relationship by getting engaged, then in another few months, they married. Together they’ve raised 7 children and currently have 16 grandchildren with another on the way!
Rex has spent over 40 years in the mortgage business helping people get into debt but also helping with the challenge of homeownership. In his spare time, he enjoys touring on a motorcycle, flying an airplane, and playing Pickleball.
Susan has a floral business- “Ivy and Fleur,” and has helped beautify many a wedding reception. When she’s not doing floral arrangements, she continues to be involved in music. Performing with MCO (Millennial Choirs and Orchestras), teaching grandchildren piano lessons are just a few of her many musical talents. She is considered the best grandma in the world by all who know her- especially the grandkids.
Rex has served in 3 bishoprics, 2 high councils, and various and sundry other callings. Susan has been twice a Relief Society President and served twice as a stake girls camp director. She also served twice as a Primary Chorister. Her primary Sacrament meetings were legendary.
We both absolutely love serving the young adults- and feel so fortunate to work with our fellow older adults as well.

Testimony: We know that as children of a loving Heavenly Father, he knows each of us individually and loves us. We have a deep and abiding testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior. It is only through Jesus Christ that we will be able to return to and abide in the presence of our Father in Heaven. The scriptures are given to us to assist and guide us in the covenant path that leads us back to Heavenly Father. God reveals truth to us through the scriptures and his Holy Prophets. We testify that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and that through him the priesthood and fullness of the gospel was restored. We also testify that President Russell M. Nelson is a Prophet and that we will be blessed as we follow his counsel for us today. We testify that true joy and happiness are found in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the covenant path.
Brother Peterson is a true native of Arizona, with his family living in Phoenix beginning in the 1800's. He graduated from Westwood and served a mission in the Porto Alegre, Brazil. He loves sports and played baseball from t-ball to college ball at MCC and ASU. Pete loves Sparky almost as much as his family. After graduating from ASU, he began his career in Broadcasting and Journalism working at Channel 3. He "retired" after 17 years and started his own business as an Insurance Agent 10 years ago. Pete enjoys his regular Friday night dates with Angi, golfing, spending time with his children as well as relaxing watching all local sports teams.
Sister Peterson was born and raised in Idaho but attended high school in Mesa and then graduated from BYU in Social Work. She managed to graduate from BYU without getting married nor meeting her spouse there---an accomplishment she is proud of! The summer after graduating she married Pete in Mesa. They have 5 great kids, 4 girls and one boy. She loves spending time and vacationing with her family, babysitting their two grandsons and going on girl's trips with her childhood best friends. She enjoys being active outdoors, especially hiking, golfing with Pete or playing sports.
Testimony: Daily we recognize the Lord's hand in our lives. We know great blessings have come because of our temple marriage, our love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the covenants we have made and strive to keep. We are deeply grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father's love we feel each day. The scriptures have brought us great strength and knowledge and we are so grateful and recognize this blessing from God.
